Aunt Doris’s is a cozy guest room at Taylor House Inn, our North Carolina B&B, tucked away on the west side of the house on the second floor. It is a great choice for lodging around Banner Elk and Boone, North Carolina.

Cool mountain mornings and our gracefully curved wooden, king-size bed with down comforter and patchwork quilt are great for sleeping late. The set of wicker chairs overlooks our gazebo. The large step-down bathroom has an original claw-foot tub with shower.

The Russo's are a delight and so accommodating! They arranged for a lovely dinner at a local restaurant that was just as good as they promised. The house and grounds are charming as the photos indicate. Comfy living room, refreshing porch, spacious bedroom, great bathroom. We enjoyed sound sleep and a delicious breakfast. My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay at the Taylor House Inn on August 15th and 16th of 2007. It felt like home. We make a point to stay at B&B's, whenever possible, and this one took the cake. The breakfasts were wonderfully delicious and the innkeepers were very friendly and interesting to talk with. They also upgraded our room at no cost. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. In comparison to the other B&B's in the area, it was the most affordable, too.

Let me start by saying that we will be returning to the Taylor House again and again. I know that fellow inn travelers have high expectations in what they consider to be a top inn. For us it is a quiet environment that gives us privacy, restrained elegance in the surroundings and a level of service that leaves you pampered and wanting more. Tessa and Bernard Russo, the innkeepers at Taylor House are the perfect hosts, amiable, knowledgeable and are there when you need them. In the busy Boone / Blowing Rock area Taylor House is the perfect counterpoint to a busy day. We recommend it highly.
